Karen spent 30+ years as a Civil Servant, mostly in Revenue which is where she developed my absolute hatred of poor writing skills! Her favourite genre is now crime/thriller/police procedural/legal genre with the occasional foray into chick-lit and general fiction.
This comedy caper has a cast of characters that just seems to keep growing as the book progresses and starts with an abduction followed by a whole host of other criminal acts..
The characters are well drawn, covering the full spectrum of humanity from the pathetic loser to the Mafia don and everything in between, some you will love and others you will loathe. It is a fast read, totally unbelievable but entertaining nonetheless.
There is no crime solving, the reader knows who is responsible for each crime. The story is more about how things spiral out of control with one crime leading to another and how characters all end up connected through the various crimes. If you want something challenging or are easily offended then this is not the book for you.
If you are a fan of black humour or are simply looking for something lighthearted and entertaining then this is the perfect book.
