R.T. Campbell
R. T. Campbell was the pen-name of the Scottish-American poet and writer Ruthven Campbell Todd (1914-1978). During a period of financial hardship in 1940s London he wrote a series of seven lively, humorous and hugely enjoyable detective novels featuring Professor John Stubbs. Stubbs is a corpulent, beer-swilling amateur detective who sets about solving crimes with considerable energy and all the tact of a herd of elephants.
