David Ellis
David Ellis is a lawyer and award-winning author of seven novels. As an author, Dave won the Edgar Allan Poe Award for Best First Novel for Line of Vision. Since then, he has published Life Sentence, Jury of One, In the Company of Liars, and Eye of the Beholder. In 2009, The Hidden Man debuted Dave’s new series character, Jason Kolarich. The Hidden Man was nominated for the L.A. Times Book Prize and Barry Award. His new novel, Breach of Trust, the second Jason Kolarich novel, will be released on February 10, 2011. Dave’s novels have been sold worldwide and have been translated into Italian, Japanese, German, Dutch, Polish, Czech, Bulgarian, and Spanish. As a lawyer, Dave prosecuted and convicted Governor Rod Blagojevich in the Impeachment trial before the Illinois Senate. He currently serves as Chief Counsel to the Speaker of the Illinois House of Representatives. He has argued dozens of cases at the trial and appellate levels, specializing in constitutional law. Dave currently lives in the state capital, Springfield, Illinois, with his wife Susan, their daughters Abigail and Julia, and their pug, Otis.
