Denise Mina
Denise Mina is the author of a trilogy of novels set in Glasgow: Garnethill (1998), which won the Crime Writers' Association John Creasey Memorial Dagger; Exile (2000); and Resolution (2001). Other books include Sanctum (2002), the story of a forensic psychiatrist, convicted of killing a serial killer. This was followed by The Field of Blood (2005), The Dead Hour (2006) and The Last Breath - three books about a young journalist, Paddy Meehan, working in the newspaper industry during the turbulent '80s and '90s, carving a place for herself. In 2007, The Dead Hour was shortlisted by the Mystery Writers of America for the Edgar Award, and was also serialised on Woman’s Hour on BBC Radio 4. BBC Scotland filmed The Field of Blood in 2010. She has now published 14 novels and also writes short stories, plays and graphic novels. In 2014 she was inducted into the Crime Writers’ Association Hall of Fame.
