Jaqueline Winspear

Jacqueline Winspear was born and raised in the county of Kent, England but emigrated to the United States in 1990.  She is the author of the Maisie Dobbs series of novels.

Maisie Dobbs (2003) the first book in the series was a National Bestseller.  It was New York Times Notable Book in 2003, as well as Publishers Weekly Top Ten Mystery of 2003.  In 2003 it won the Agatha Award for Best First Novel.  In 2004 it won the Macavity Award for best first novel and was nominated for Anthony Award and Barry Award for Best Novel, The Edgar Award for Best Mystery (only the second time a first novel has been nominated for this award) and the Dilys Award.  The novel also won the Alex Award, which is presented annually by the American Library Association in conjunction with the Margaret Alexander Edwards Trust.

The second book in the series Birds of a Feather (2004) won the Agatha Award for Best Novel in 2004 and was nominated for the Dilys Award in 2005.

Pardonable Lies, which was published in 2005, was nominated for the Agatha Award Best Novel the same year.  In 2006 it won the inaugural Sue Feder Macavity Award for Best Historical Novel.

Messenger of Truth (2006) was nominated for the Agatha Award for Best Novel and nominated in 2007 for the Macavity Award for Best Historical Novel.

The fourth book in the series is An Incomplete Revenge (2008).  Among The Mad, which was published in 2009, was nominated for the 2010 Macavity Award for Best Historical Novel. 

The most recent book in the series is The Mapping of Love and Death (2010)
